Twenty Third Male' Scout Group
The very first Community based Rover Scout Group registered in the Maldives.
The 23rd Male' Scout Group was registered in the Scout Association of Maldives on 4th September 2006. The group was registered as the very first community based Rover Scout Group in Maldives. Our Group Motto is "23rd Male' Rovers - To Create a better Community".This Scout Group is Sponsored by 'Muslimunge Gulhun' (local NGO).
Objectives
The Objectives of the 23rd Male' Scout Group is to encourage the development of young people to achieve their full physical, mental, social, cultural and spiritual potentials so that they can take a constructive role in society as individuals and as brother and sister Scouters.
Strategy
The Strategy is to orgnize and implement enjoyble, attractive and progressive self education programmes, based on the cultural values, Scout Promise and the Scout Laws.
Principles
The Principles are based on the three broad fundamental laws and beliefs:
1- Duty to Allah
2- Duty to help others
3- Duty to self
History
Six scout friends who graduated from Centre for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) were interested in contributing to the society.They met their former teacher Mr. Abdulla Ismail, together they talked and decided to form a rover crew by themselves to practice scouting skills while contributing to the community. It was with Imad and Kennedy Sir’s support and help that our Rover Group 23rd Male' Scout Group came in to existence. Further support was given by Zambe and MI making the group which we are today. 4th September 2010 marks Four (4) years of Rover Scouting of 23rd Male' Scout Group.
