Crew BBQ kick starts 2013

 

23rd Male' Rover Crew, gathered for a January BBQ in Vilingilli on the 11th, kick starting a new year of Rovering.

 

With Assistant Group Scout Leader M.I on the grill, team 23rd prepping up a feast serving over 10 of our Rovers, (all those who were in Male'). Sharing old stories and good memories, getting to know one another a little more better, it was indeed a night of laughter and jest.

 

This was the first outdoor event of the year, was a good ice-breaker event for the new comers, and pretty sure everyone enjoyed the "Crew Time". This also was the first event (other than a Crew Meeting) where our new female members joined.

One Year ago 23rd Male' Rovers; SAF Friendship camp 2009

7th SAF Scout Friendship Camp was held from the 20-26, November,2009 National Youth Complex, Gadpuri, India. Rover Scouts Nasheed, Simaaadh and Muin from 23rd Male' Scout Group took part in the Maldivian Contingent that participated this South Asian Foundation Friendship Camp. Rover Scout Maeed took part as an APR Facilitator.

This camp was attended by 151 young people from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Here are The RECOMMENDATIONS of the Youth Forum that was held in the Camp:

23rd Rovers actively took part in JOTI - 2010 event

Rover Scouts of 23rd Male' Open Rover Crew actively took part in this years Jamboree on the Internet. The event which is annually organized every 3rd week of October is actually two World Jamborees, one that is held through Radio Scouting which is called as the Jamboree On The Air (JOTA) and the other held by means of Interenet Scouting that goes by the name of Jamboree On The Internet (JOTI).

This year it was the 53rd JOTA and 14th JOTI, held from 16th-17th October 2010. However, In the Maldives, the National Scout Organization, The Scout Association of Maldives (SAM) only took part in the Internet Scouting event JOTI. Since the event coincided with the exam period of most of the Schools in the Maldives, SAM did not organize an official JOTA - JOTI Station, but instead SAM encouraged Scout Groups to organize there own JOTI Stations and to take part in the event as small groups.
